We are committed to social causes at all three company locations. In Freilassing, the company has now donated €1,000 each to three regional associations for youth work. But it is not only at Christmas that the company wants to give something back.
In a newly introduced employee competition, the Kiefel workforce was able to suggest charitable projects or non-profit organizations that were close to their hearts and to which they themselves were committed for donation. The management then drew lots for this year's three "projects of the heart" from all the submissions. The winners were the Ringham-Petting Musikkapelle, the ESV Freilassing handball team and the SV Kirchanschöring soccer club. Representatives of the clubs as well as the employees symbolically accepted the checks at a small tribute at Kiefel. "As a technology company, we are primarily committed to (education) and innovation, STEM promotion or research," explains Thomas Halletz, CEO of Kiefel. "But social interaction is ultimately what makes us strong - as colleagues and as a responsible employer in the regions where Kiefel is located."
At the Dutch site of subsidiary Kiefel Packaging B.V. in Sprang-Capelle, the company therefore decided to forgo customer gifts and instead donate to the local "Foodbank," which distributes food to those in need. At the Austrian site of the subsidiary Kiefel Packaging GmbH in Micheldorf, special attention was given this year to supporting the emergency aid of the Red Cross and the local fire department.
In addition to its external commitment, Kiefel attaches great importance to community within the company. In addition to employee and family celebrations or a cross-site soccer tournament, the machine and tool manufacturer also participates in various sporting events, e.g. business runs and a cross-country skiing trophy with its own teams. Halletz adds, "We are pleased that our offerings are so well received by the workforce. This is evidenced by our high trainee ratio, an increasingly international workforce, and long tenures of over 40 years with the company."
